Accessibility
This page aims to present the accessibility policy of the Defender of Rights' complaint form website and define the overall accessibility level observed on the site in accordance with the regulations and applicable standards.
What is digital accessibility ?
Digital accessibility is a set of rules and best practices that cover various aspects, including functional, graphical, technical, and editorial aspects.
Following these rules and best practices ensures that digital materials (websites, mobile applications, PDF documents, etc.) are accessible to individuals with disabilities
An accessible website allows, for example :
- Customize the display through the operating system and/or the browser (enlarging or shrinking text, changing typography, modifying colors, disabling animations, etc.).
- Navigate using assistive technologies such as screen readers or a Braille display
- Navigate without using the mouse, using the keyboard only, switches, or via a touchscreen.
- View videos and audio content with subtitles and/or transcriptions.
- Etc.

Additional notes
Source code validity
The source code generated for the site’s pages is not fully valid according to the specified document type.
However, for the reasons detailed below, RGAA criterion 8.2 related to this point is marked as compliant.
Officially, WCAG criterion 4.1.1 linked to RGAA criterion 8.2 has been removed in WCAG 2.2 and is deemed satisfied under WCAG 2.1 and the European EN 301 549 standard.
Practically, this criterion no longer provides any benefit for accessibility for people with disabilities. Accessibility issues due to invalid source code are addressed by other RGAA criteria.
Datepickers
The datepickers (calendars used to fill in date fields) present on certain pages of the form are not fully accessible and compliant with the RGAA.
However, it is possible to manually enter these date fields without necessarily using these datepickers.
This constitutes a reasonably accessible alternative.
Establishment of this declaration
